Some will hold for awile some won't. Put a transgo Jr in it before you hurt it and it will help some.

Why risk losing a 100k warranty?

Most say itll hold 100 horse as long as you arent out doing burn outs etc, and keep the trans temps down

I have a Predator Diablo Sport stacked with a Edge Box and the old girl holds up to the abuse that i put it through. I can only run the Predator on 60 hp above stock and the Edge box on Level 5. Any more power than that and the trans goes in to limp mode.

If you are running an LLY then you are running quite a bit of timing which may not be good for your engine.

I would install the Transgo Jr immediately. Its not worth having the tranny go limp even one time, when you can avoid that whole mess for about $100. When my first tranny went limp on my 04.5 LLY, I thought I was being fairly responsible, but have since found out, if you add any power, you had better at least install the Transgo Jr kit, or you will eventually be sorry. After it limps even one time, its like a shoulder injury, it just never goes away and its easier to limp and believe me it will when you are not even trying. Too many limps and then get out your wallet, its $4k time for rebuild. Be advised, its just a matter of time !

Put the transgo Jr. in and running the highest setting, tranny feels alot stronger and has alot firmer shifts. Still want a Suncoast V though

if you have the transgo jr your tranny will hold everything the predator has, (im guessing thats what ur running)

I take it back, my trans has learned to like my abuse. I am currently running 85hp Preadator stack w/ level 4 Edge. no limps (still stock trans)

The only way to find out what each one can handle is to take it to the max, then back off one step...right? :cookoo: :duh:

:funnypost

The max on one of these Allisions is when she goes into limp mode. You got to back off one notch from that I would say. If not you and goin nowwhere. Backing down from a setting that you can run is not acceptable. :ro)

Check diesel proformance shops. Many people go to bigger and badder boxes and sell the old ones to the shops cheap. Then those guys will sell them to you cheap. My friend just picked up the Juice w/o Additude monitor that would only fit a 01-02 LBZ for $100. Just my .02 cents

i will have to call around...i dont know of many diesel shops in maryland...Before i buy another box im going to do exhaust which i still havent done. I want to run it at the track but not with the EGT's i get with the predator and stock exhaust! I just ordered a PPE boost increase valve which should help also...

Forget the stacks, go with EFI live.

i run my LLY on 90hp (hypertech stage 3) , with turbo back 4 inch exhaust and a K&N intake system and mines never limped. is that odd?

No, I never limp mine with a small box on it. My Edge box alone won't even limp my trans. It takes a high power box to limp it. Some transmissions it takes 2 chips to limp um.

Edge Box 150hp
Predator 65hp
Total = "215hp" :rolleyes:

You have to remember that all of these numbers are fake though. You loose alot of hp to the driveline and with stacking chips, you never get the full blast out of the second chip.

If you want to try to limp you trans, put a box like a PPE or a Predator on full power. You can limp it then most likley.

W/ a juice/predator stack I can limp mine at will on middle settings of both boxes.

All are different, so once is limps it goes down hill fast.

Most likely will have this truck for a long time. With that in mind, don't want to tear it up. Although, i bet double stacking would make it a nasty ride.

Oh, it works good. You just have to know when to is the time to do stupid thing and when is not. The 4-5 shift is a well known limp shift. If I run my boxes hotter than normal, I just have to get of it's balls at that shift. I hear what you are saying though.
