I've narrowed down my search to either the Kenwood DDX7015

or the Pioneer AVIC-N1

Hasn't anyone seen/used both of these to compare? Actually, I wouldn't mind feedback if you've only used one :)

This will be going in my 2005 Sierra HD when it arrives in December. I'll also be adding screens behind the front headrests, rear audio controls (keeps my daughter happy on road trips), a Microsoft X-Box and two video feeds from the back of the truck. One will make sure that I don't run over any cars when I back up (9" lift) and the other will be pointing towards the hitch so I can see when I hook up a trailer by myself.

Arent you comparing two unlike units? The Kenwood is a DVD screen
while the pioneer is GPS/Nav right?

They are difference in the fact that one has a flip up screen while the other sits in dash. Both can place DVDs, NAV ect.. They either come set up like that or pieces can be added on. It doesn't matter what I have to add, I'll have these set up to do everything and maybe even make me breakfast too :)

In that case I like the Kenwood. Im looking for a nav system for my truck
as well so maybe this is the route to take.

I have the Kenwood unit and you will really like it. I got the Sirius Radio, Navagation unit (which is excellent) and back-up camera. I have had no problems. I also upgraded to all new speakers and amplifiers. I showed it off on one of these threads. The motorized flip display is one more thing to break.

Look at the Pioneer Post in Yahoo Groups they have had some issue with the unit but have been fixed with a software update. I have the older pioneer unit in my last truck and I enjoyed it, I am considering putting it the new truck or selling it. I do like the new Kenwood as it is a one piece screen as apposed to slide out and less boxes to install but my old pioneer was a hell of a system.

Good luck

No cutting is required, actually the opening is too big, so you will need to use the included bezel to fill in the gap.

up to 02 they are 1.5 DIN 03 and up they are 2 DIN. Personally after
dealing/installing and using Kenwood and Pioneer products for
several years I've found Pioneer's products to be a cut above
Kenwood's in features and quality. I'd get the N1 again any day, but
it'd be nice if pioneer made a similar unit...
