My 2002 driver's side mirror is not heating. Any tips on troubleshooting the mirror...could it be a switch gone bad? Passenger side is just fine.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley5.gif

I've got the opposite problem. My driver's side works but the passenger side doesn't. I also have an '02. Looking forward to what people think the problem may be.

The heating "tape" on the back inside of the mirrors sometimes shorts out. Basically, you need a new mirror plate.

The dealers around here will only sell the "complete" mirror assembly for $250+.

I'd look at aftermarket mirrors if that is your only option. For me, they have always broke before the warranty expired.

My mirror repair cost me in the neighborhood of $53 bucks for the same problem at the dealer. Part number for the driverside off of my invoice is 88986362 Mirror kit. Hope this helps!
