I took my '05 LLY in for an oil change, normal service. When I left the dealer I noticed that the service engine light was on, I had onstar run a diagnostic (spelling) on it and had an air intake and exhaust emission fault or something. I changed the air filter and reset the little indicator on the intake, this is when the truck went weak, would not pull a peel off of a banana. I took it back to the dealer and they tell me that the MAS went out!
I'm waiting for them to call me now, they had to get a sensor from another dealer!
Wow! everything at once?
All I needed was an oil change!

No, it was a stock air filter! Dealer said that the oiled filters would cause that as well.
Thanks

I never had any problems with my dealer back home, but they had some pretty cool old dudes that I could count on not to stiff me.
Ater all said and done today, things worked out ok, When I pulled my air filter out it was pretty dirty and the indicator showed it to be bad.
I don't know why the MAS sensor went out at this particular time though. But the service manager at Daniel's Chevorlet in COS covered the sensor under warranty, my warranty went out about 2800 miles back, that's a plus, and even though they were very busy today the service guy asked me to bring it back in so they could get the problem sorted out before the holiday.
Only cost to me was the oil change and an air filter.

If it just went out of warranty, then the next oil change might bring a hole in the transfer case.:joke: :HiHi: :rotflmao:

Easy Tiger !!, that might leave things a mess!

All jokes aside, a co-worker had his transfer case lock up and explode at 70 mph, a piece went through the windsheild of a car behind him, no fatalities, the driver of the car was hospitalized, but it did cause a lot of problems including a lawsuit.
His 2500HD was an '04 and a gas burner! He was lucky, his was still under at the time and GM handled everything, but they kept his truck for more than a year.

That is nice to know, mine is out of warranty, with the pump upgrade, so I guess I would have to face the music alone, or would the General stand behind me as well?
