Service manual no help. Seems to be a mystery. I do know ford uses a star wheel adjuster for the shoes. Both ford and GM are supposed to be self adjusting..NOT! Sticking my hand out the window works just as good. One of these days I'll take it apart and figure it out. Mackin has a lot of experience with e-brake though. Ask him! Sorry I can't really help.

Star wheel adjuster similar to drum brakes. Look on inboard side of axle flange/backing plate and you'll find an oblong rubber plug, remove that plug and adjust w/ a small brake spoon. When I did mine, I couldn't find my brake tools, so I used a small screwdriver to turn the adjuster. Pretty sure ther ight tool would make it a 'lil easier. L8R
