I have been iluminating my SEL quite frequentyly. It is because of a downloader that I installed. I am getting code 0234 overboost. It is not a big deal. Just reset the code and be on my way. If I want to get rid of the problem I can get rid of the downloader or stack it with a boost fooler.


My real question is, if the light is on becase of overboost and a real/multiple problem occurs, what will the light do? Will it give me any notice that another problem has arisen? I would hate to be driving around with the light on, and have more problems then just a 0234 caused by a programing error.

If another code is set, the SES light would just stay on, it won't start flashing or doing anything special just because more than one code is stored.

Overboost code is pretty common on the first year trucks. I got it
running propane all the time. It would defuel the truck. Also sometimes
defueled without lp. Apparently there were some reflashes along the way
to reduce this problem in stock trucks so it seems this is an area of
sensitivity.



After adding a 90hp Juice, no more defuels or codes. This was on my 01 Dmax.



I think the overboost is a nuisance but also could be a lifesaver if something went wrong.

When I get the code on my 03, it does absolutly nothing to the way it drives down the road. No surges or backdown on power that I can tell.It just throws the light and code any time I drive 2 trips. It is with the Quadzilla on any level. 50,70,90 or 110. It dosn't matter weather it is in tow haul or cruise control. The only factor that I can tell makes it happen, is when I am towing my work trailer. It is a 6 foot tall, 8 foot long enclosed. It weighs about 3400LBS loaded.


The light comes on every time I tow the trailer but never when I am not towing the trailer?


I have cleaned my MAF and replaced my air filter. I guess I will just have to get a Juice with attitude when the budget allows.
