Just trying to get some good numbers on everyone that has an LLY out there in regards to some of the problems we have been experienceing with injectors, idle, surge, mileage, reflashes, etc. I know theres a lot of us driving these around and im trying to put some good numbers together in regards to all that is happening. Thanks again

I have only had a reflash for a computer update. I guess that I would not consider that a "problem"...

So far, so good on my '04.5 LLY. First diesel I've owned, so I don't know any better whether or not it rocks or sucks compared to the LB7.

i had inector problems at 750 miles. had a reflash and it didnt work. immediatly after that i started using additive from the dealer. i have not had any problems since then and i am running juice/additude with no problems. i now have 2500 miles on truck.

No problems, but I can seem to notice performance changes between tanks of fuel so I figure I'll start using some type of additive. Our diesel mechanic at work says I'll really notice a difference when the winter fuel shows up at the pumps.

I agree a lot of problems can be due to fuel quality. And it always seems like a lot of people are having problems cuz they are the most vocal on the internet.

Should have had another option 'no problems w/ power adder'.

Also need - "Problems - NO MODS". This poll is designed to show only problems with mods and programs. Be interesting to see how many pure stock, no mods, no programs are having troubles. That would be much more tell tale as to whether problems are associated with mods and programs, or are strickly a GM problem which may be enhanced by mods and programs.

I have disconnected EGR and noticed mileage dropping after 4 tanks or so... (that's another topic discussion I know...)

id like to get a good idea on all of this stuff were doing - air intake, egr mod, cat removal, programs, etc... what i noticed on mine was that it seemed like the LLY was very touchy and too smart for its own good, everytime i tinkered with something, eventually it would start running worse over time - not sure why, i can only gather that by changing certain parameters the pcm counteracts that by changing something else to compensate thus making the truck run worse ??

DMax Tim - When Steve Cole get a 05 TTS tow, that could change. I'd settle to getting my 02 power back. But in all fairness, I only have about 2500 miles on it.

What I noticed after adding the Hypertech is that it runs nice and smooth on settings 1 and 2 with lots of torque. On setting 3, it's very noticably faster but it's also very jerky and the tranny seems to want to shift and "hunt" all over the place. It doesn't really bother me, I'm used to driving a pretty radical street rod. But I noticed it when I was getting on it and I looked over at my wife, she had a pretty serious "What the Hell is wrong with this thing" look on her face! http://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley3.gif

I programmed it back to setting #2 and the thing ran much smoother. No black smoke either.

I have had the "rough idle" problem but it was fixed in August with an
eight injector replacement. My dealer has since done all the reflash
updates. I have ZERO MODS and NO PROGRAMMER. Never did. You
missed adding that option to the poll.

No mods. Injector control module replaced at ~2500 miles. Now at 14000 getting 19-20 MPG unloaded. 14-15 towing 6500 lb. She goes like a scalded ape when I stomp on it. I love this truck.

No mods, truck runs great. It may have the overheating problem when towing heavy, just haven't had the right conditions presented to overheat the truck yet. Otherwise very happy! JJ http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif

I love this truck, interior much better than the Ford and Dodge products I test drove IMHO. Don't you just love the smell of fresh Diesel fuel in the morning http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif no more gassers for me!

Just completed a cross-country run from NE Nevada to N. Fl. Carried approx. 2,500 lb load, no tow. Highway speeds were between 70 and 75. Temps and humidity varied from freezing and 10% to 90 and 100%. 8,000 miles on unit and zero problems. Fuel usage was 17.9 mpg including two days in Las Vegas and Yuma traffic. The 8.1 gasser I had would deliver 12 mpg on same run. Very pleased with the LLY so far. She is just as stock as the day she came off the line.

I purchased my truck in July with the intention of towing my 1972 Z28 to the Drags. My thoughts was: dependabiliy and economy. Well, I didnt get my car to the drags this year but, I'm having a blast smokin Furds, Dogies, and import compacts.
