so I have decided to get a 4" dual exit turboback catless exhaust, but Im not sure if I should get it with a muffler or not. Is mufflerless annoyingly loud? and how much extra power are we talking about between muffler and mufflerless? thanks

IMO, it's annoyingly loud. It blasts vs. having a tone. As far as power gain, there isn't any.

There is a huge difference in sound between a straight piped lb7 and the lly/lbz's. The lb7's are just straight up loud and mean from idle all the way to wot with no muffler. Now the lly's and lbz's are quite a but quieter with straight pipes. My lly has the factory pipes with no cat or muffler and really all you hear is the turbo until about 2300 rpm if im on it then I can get her to cackle and be very loud. I have a friend with a lbz that has nothing from the turbo back and he complains how he cant get any noise out of it. So I think you would have nothing to work about with no muffler. There is hardly any noise in the cab. I hope this helps you out a little! CHRIS

my lb7 straight pipe is rediculous.....all my friends laugh and tell me to put my muffler back on because it's too raspy. I honestly don't care, I love it until im probably 30. keep the muffler on the side if you wanna change back. my dad's lly sounded like a vaccum cleaner straight pipe lol
