Yesterday I put a superchip programmer on my truck and set it all the way up (70hp). I felt no difference no increased power AT ALL. It was used though, i didnt buy it. Was it broke or do they perform that badly.

http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/hihi.gifI bought my Edge for $406 and LOVE it. Looks like you have a '99, so you can probably find one cheaper. I've seen the ones for the '99 on e-bay pretty inexpensively.

I only had one problem with the Edge. I was hooked. I had to have more. I still have to have more! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif So -- I stacked a TST box with my Edge. All I can say is Wow.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gifhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gifhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif

I'm not sure how much hp I'm pushing right now as I only have the stock clutch, pump, and turbo. I can tell you this -- If I put it on the floor in third gear, it will break the tires loose every time. That's without using the clutch to help. I've also noticed when I'm at WOT accelerating through 4th and 5th, if I hit any ripples or bumps in the road at all, the tires start spinning.

I'll be going to Kansas City to get my new dual disc SBC clutch installed sometime in the next week. Mine keeps slipping on me. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/hihi.gif

But -- If you're looking for a good little kick in the pants that is usable, get a pyro installed and go with the Edge.

While my Ram has the all-mechanical http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley20.gif12 valve, I did buy a gold superchip for the wife's SUV. It needed to be reflashed, but the local superchips dealer did it free of charge. I can only think yours isnt making proper contact as you would definitely feel the extra ponies. I have had trouble with mine vibrating loose and making the truck run very badlyhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley11.gif. We drive a lot of gravel roads and they arent always so smooth. I'd check the contacts. It seems mine needs to be taped in place to avoid poor contact.
