I'm goin to a custom exhaust shop later on today. Is there any room to make a bigger downpipe off the turbo even if it needs to be oval shaped like the oem one? I think making the downpipe bigger would really help out.

There appears to be room back there, but the dipstick tube is in the way.

There is room. The heat shield will make it interesting. The
dipstick tube is reasonably flexable but the mount point is currently
in the way.



Fabbing a custom turbo down pipe is on my list of projects when I get
back off the road. I would love to see what you come up with.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif My rough measurements seem to point to a max of a 6" x 3" oval pipe, but I haven't had the heat shield off yet.
