Anyone every put a 12v 5.9 in a obd2 chev with the 4l80e ? how do you get the gauges to work? what about the tranny shifting ?
I just looked at a cummins in a 94 chev 4x4 but thats pretty easy just put a 93 prom in from a mechanical pumped truck.
I found a 99 with a blown engine with leather shortbox 4x4 cheap but trying to find a block out here that isnt nfg is damn hard.
anyone done/doing this? any help or insight would be appreciated

you can buy a standalone 4l80e controller for like a grand. But I haven't seen an adapter to do it.

yeah i found adapters from a 4bt, plus there is lots of places even PATC has a bellhousing adapter, flywheel etc.
i read somewhere that a guy just welded 4 1.5 inch markers on his balancer, and that satisfied the computer to make it shift. I'm not sure if that was with a 92 ecm or what.
If you have a tps sensor what else do you need to satisfy the computer? besides a tach feed? I'm just trying to figure this out so i can get all the stuff together before i start the project, or before i decide if i should just jam another 6.5 in it.
prefer cheap too

why not use a stick or get a dodge trans? Or just a trans out of a '93? I know you are pretty sure of what you want to do, but it might be easier another way...

would the dash work if i put in a dodge tranny?? Just trying the simplest cheapest way to get a real engine in a real truck. i don't want a standard due to the fact that the wife can't drive it. other than that, the hutterites have one but its a 94, they just had to get the computer reflashed for the 4l80 but its OBD-I so i dont think its that complicate. They also have no lift and no intercooler. I think im going to lift it and put flexalite fans on it.
Thanks for the link 2000cheyennetd, i've been waiting for 2 weeks for them to put my registration thru.
Right now i'm open to all suggestions and ideas so keep'em coming. TIA everyone

Because it would be embarrasing to have a dodge auto trans in a Chevy. DUH:D
