Edge Products is happy to announce the commencement of our beta test program for the ’07.5 LMM Duramax. We are now signing up dependable individuals to test our latest Juice with Attitude kit in order to provide us with critical feedback about the performance of the new module. The beta testing program allows qualifying individuals an opportunity to purchase a module that produces up to 85HP and 160 ft. lbs. of torque at a deeply discounted price. In return, all we ask is that you provide us with feedback about the performance of the module over a two- to three-week period via e-mail. Retail for this kit is $965; however, beta testers can purchase the kit for only $475. Additionally, once production of the units is complete, your module will receive the latest updates and upgrades. If interested, contact Nate at nhalliday@edgeproducts.com (nhalliday@edgeproducts.com).

Note: This program is offered on a first-come first-served basis to the first 40 individuals who qualify

I sent an e-mail.....but does anyone know if any of the programing companies offer a free beta test unit? Although 475 is a good deal for a working edge unit...it still seems a little steep for us to be guiena pigs

Noticed that you have tint on the back windows. Aren't the back windows of these trucks around 17%? I know that from being ticketed for having dark tint on my front sides to match the rear :)

I put 20% on the back sides and rear and 15% on the pass and driver doors. It makes the color even and it keeps more heat out than the factory smoked glass, which allows UV rays and heat to penetrate. I also have the front windshield tinted with 73%.

It is plenty dark with out having to go limo which looks great but is a pain when you are in a lifted truck at night. Once I do the black head liner it will darken it up a bit more.

How was the install?

The install isn't bad at all. You mount the control/display inside the cab. I won't be using the bracket that is supplied. I have a different one that works good for things like that. Bring the wire into the engine compartment (open door, wire around between fender and frame. Fits well in the slot). Disconnect the two main harnesses, plug the Edge harnesses in-between then, connect turbo timer wire to fuse 56 in the fuse box (product won't work without that being connected), plus in the Edge box, mount that, then two wires to the passenger's side. Drill a hole in the exhaust manifold for the EGT probe. Install that and you are done. I'll be taking care of that hole at work today.

The truck definately feels more responsive now. I drove it easy to allow the transmission to learn the new tune. That will be going on for a few hundred miles but I layed into it once before pulling into the driveway. Much better!!! :)

I should have installed the intake before I straight piped my truck, if for no other reason to see if there was a power increase. For the money it was I don't really see the need for it but I am an impulsive shopper. I think that there is a little more turbo whine with it but it is hard to tell because there is so much from the exhaust now. But to answer your question, I like it but if it was the last $400 I had to spend on my truck it definitely would have gone to something different :D

Got mine today and am almost done installing it. Had a hard time tapping the hole for the EGT probe because the handle for my tap was pretty big, once it got started it was good to go, just had to take the handle off, turn it 1/4 turn and put it back on, a smaller handle would have been nice.

The fuse slot 56 was what I came here for, thanks man! They should make this a bit more clear in the instructions... I couldn't find anyplace that said where to put it.

If you still have the DPF installed you aren't gonna get smoke.

Installed mine today. I have the turbo cool down set at 300 before the truck shuts off. Got defueling only between 5th and 6th gear. Running with the egt's, gear, if its in regen or not and boost showing on the Attitude. Changed my tire size to 103.1 for my 285 tires.

Far as if it kicks ass or not, not sure. Been running on level 3 and haven't hammered on it too hard as I'm letting the tranny re-learn itself. I'm 'thinking" that the mileage has gone up a couple at the most. From about 14.5 to 16.5. Have to see once I do my usual driving back and forth to work.

Install wasn't too bad. Inside wheel well was too much of a pain to take out or put back on. Drilling was easy. Used a magnet after drilling and taping along with starting the truck before installing the probe. The tap handles I had would not fit the tap so I had to use a cresent wrench on the tap.

Will update once I get more miles on it.

I don't have a DPF and still have little smoke at all, my 05 had a setting on the Attitude display that allowed me to raise the smoke level of the exhaust, I can't find it anywhere on the LMM display so I figure that Edge left that function off since we are supposed to have the filters remain on which would eliminate the smoke regardless. I am going to give my feedback to Nate as well as request that that particular function be added back to the new version, wish me luck......because all or most of you will eventually remove all the emission $hit like I did! :D

Well if it would be possible too I'd like to see Edge be able to clear a code or light if someone decided to go with a dpf delete exhaust system. I know we are suppose to get upgraded or the final product when this is all done. Now is that just the module? Cause i don't think we can update these with our own computers/laptops from the webiste/email, or anything..... right? Yea yea I know stupid question. lmao :D

I towed Friday and today with the Edge installed in 100-110 degree heat and had no problems. Set the Juice in setting 2, towed and shiftd smooth. My EGT's even stock seem higher than my LB7 was, anyone else notice this?

The following rear wheel numbers are what has been seen on a test vehicle -

......... ..HP...TORQUE
Stock - 294/549
Level 1 - 321/605
Level 2 - 337/627
Level 3 - 347/637
Level 4 - 359/655
Level 5 - 375/676
Level 6 - 395/742

I'm currently running Level 4 and am happy with the results. This is how the truck should feel from the factory! No effort required merging into traffic and it's worked great towing two jet skis (about 1800lbs total).

Well went on a 300 mile drive today. From Salem Or up through Portland and then over to Astoria. MPG was around 18 to Astoria. Did pull over at one lookout area going there and when I pulled out decided to gun it a little. Didn't last long because the egt alarm was set at 1350 and it defueled. I changed that up to 1500.

After fueling up probably about 5 miles or so the alarm came up letting me know it went into regen mode. MPG at that point was right around 18. Regen knocked it down to 17 mpg. About 34 miles after fueling up and after the regen cycle I had an engine light on. Looked up the DTC and it came up with "Mass or volume air flow circuit range/performance." No like a knuckle head I didn't write down the code number. :( This part of the driving was coming down 101 between Astoria and Tillamook for those that live in OR. know what I'm talking about.

I also set off the alarm one other time when I got closer to home I hammered down on it a little and set off the boost alert. Maxed out at 32psi. What is the safe limit for boost with the LMM?

All and all pretty please with the setup so far. Seems as though to add "maybe 2 to 4 mpg" and a boat load of snot. Each time I "hammered" on the gas pedal it really wasn't hammered, just pushed down maybe 1/2 way.

"Mass or volume air flow circuit range/performance."

I have had that same code since day 1. edge has sent me a new juice module that I will try out tomorrow.

My new unit did it again over the weekend.
I had better reults knocking the low end response down to "lowest" As soon as I moved it up to low I had my first bad regen. I had 6 normal regens before moving the setting.
The code is P0101...
We're getting closer :)

tbyrne
07-09-2007, 02:23 PM
I reset mine last night so it doesn't clear codes and it now tells me when the regen happens. First time I noticed that was Saturday night and then it did it again this morning (buzzer told me today). That was after driving about 100 miles. My low end response is at the highest setting.

Also have seen max boost at 32 psi. Might have seen 34 flash last I was getting out of the throttle.

FXRS
07-09-2007, 02:40 PM
Can't remember what my low is set at. Only had one regen so far and that was yesterday. I did notice the the egt's during regen did go up 400 to 500 degrees though.

I believe my boost is set to alarm at 32. I could feel it defuel when I got on it and it went over that. Just kind of curious what is the highest I can safely set that at.

So I will go ahead and claim my bonehead award now!

Apparently I didn't wait long enough before hooking up the harnesses. (thought it was more than 2 minutes) So I now cannot start the truck at all. It threw a check engine light at me and I shut it off and it will not restart.

That was yesterday about 8am. Today, I pulled the edge harnesses off and tried to restart it......Nothing!

I am waiting for Edge tech support to get back from lunch and hopefully they can help me.

Has anyone esle done this?

I left mine as it came,... to defuel 5-6 but I have no idea what the heck that means?

The engine cuts back fuel while the truck shifts from 5th into 6th gear, it is a safety thing for the tranny.

Tapping the fuse is for the turbo timing and power for the box. I did that and it started once. It was when I shut it off that it wouldn't re-start. I removed the box and still the same problem. Dealer has it and says they don't know what is wrong with it......

That tap isnt the greatest, mine has come undone twice, probably better off buying a fuse that already has a tap in it. If i have a transgo jr. will i be safe with the defueling set to off running level 6, or am i better off leaving it on?
