I have a 83 GMC 2500 with the HD turbo 400 trans. In 143,000 miles I have had 3 torque converters internally self destruct. The truck doesn't really tow or haul anything, it's just used for transportation. Any ideas why the torque converters keep failing?

4L80E's pushes fluid out of the torque converter too. What is going on?Edited by: quantum mechanic
