I have a 01 2500 dmax with the Allison. I notice a tranny leak around 35k miles. Had it fixed, torque converter bolts. Somewhere around 45k same thing. Had it fixed, coverter bolts. 55k, guess what, same thing only I took it to a different dealer. They said that the previous job was messy and probably wasn't done right. They fixed it, converter bolts. I have 63k now and just noticed another leak, in the same spot. What is going on! Talked to the dealer and they don't seemed worried, almost like this is normal? What is the problem? How can I have the dealer fix it? Do I need a new tranny, new truck, or a new dealership? Any thoughts, experience, or advise will be helpfull

When you say torque converter bolts are you refering to the bolts that hold the converter to the flywheel? If fluid is coming from those bolts then the converter is cracked and needs to be replaced.

If they are the bolts that hold the converter housing to the transmission then it is common for the 2 bottom bolts to leak. The need to have copper washers installed on them to seal. If they have just been replacing them that might be why the leak comes back.

Thanks for the reply. However it seems that I made a mistake. Every visit to the dealer, they said torque converter bolts. I just assumed that's what it was. Looking back at work orders, I guess they all raplaced the front pump bolts/gaskets. So how does this change the situation? Thanks for any info.
