This coming weekend, a friend and I will be comparing the Banks 6-Gun with speedloader against his Bullydog Powerpup. Both trucks are extended cab short box LB7's. Both have automatic transmissions, 3.73 gearing, 265 series tires, and a K&N intake. In addition, mine has a Banks exhaust and his is stock. Before we installed these modifications, these two trucks ran identical. We will race with no power braking and run up until the speed limiter (97mph). There will be about 10 minutes between each race, as he will have to program his changes. We are going to run comparable levels on each, comparing their advertised claims. This will be a drag race between the two that will be on video. I'll post the videos of each level on Monday morning. The video will be shot at the 1/4 mile mark. Mine is the black truck with the 6-Gun and his is the white with the Bullydog Powerpup.


Run 1: 6-Gun level 3 (62hp) vs. Bullydog level 1 (50hp)


Run 2: 6-Gun level 3 (62hp) vs. Bullydog level 2 (70hp)


Run 3: 6-Gun level 4 (93hp) vs. Bullydog level 3 (95hp)


Run 4: 6-Gun level 6 (155hp) vs Bullydog level 4 (155hp)


Run 4 will be run in 4wd to avoid wheelspin issues. Both trucks have stock transmissions, so run 4 will be up until his truck goes into limp mode on the 4-5 shift.

There are a couple of disadvantages to an all out race against a programmer that doesn't defuel between shifts, doesn't back down for tranny slippage or egt temps. But, I don't think I've seen backdown for the tranny or egt temps yet. This race may become more interesting. Another friend with an Edge with Attitude also wants to participate. The place we'll be racing at is a private smooth blacktop road about 1 mile long, and it's wide enough for 4 trucks side-by-side. We'll be adjusting his power settings to match as close as we can to the 6-Gun and Bullydog power settings. This race will not be set-up in anyway, as the owner of each truck will be racing his truck. The benefit of racing these trucks against one another is you can see at what point and by how much the other trucks will pull on you or fall behind. It will be interesting.

OH Man, now im kinda excited myself. I have a 03 Dmax/ally to put a Edge/attitude , 4" exh, and intake mod on ! The race was set for Saturday morning. There was a drizzle in the morning, so we decided to wait it out. Needless to say, it turned into a steady rain that went all day long. No, it hasn't happened yet. It doesn't look good for the next couple of weekends, either. Deer hunting starts this Saturday morning. Sorry to get everyone's hopes up, but it was planned and it was going to happen the last two Saturdays. We've had nothing but rain for those last two weeks. These runs will be taped with the three trucks running side-by-side, with an explanation as to what level each box was running. (We'll try to get the three as even as possible as far as claimed hp gains.) I will post these under a new topic AFTER I have the videos of the races, so there's no more anticipation. Maybe we'll all have to take off a Friday to get it done.
