Can anyone help me out here, Ive removed the fasteners and I can tell you need to lift the panel a little but Im hesitant to pull very hard since everything's plastic. Any ideas?

remove the trim around the inside door handle, and take off the triangle piece that covers the mirror mount, and just lift up about 1 inch, and then straight out.

There seems to be something else holding it, I could see some white tabs at the bottom that looked like they preventing it from pulling out.

From Helms:

1. Remove the door handle bezel.

2. Remove door trim panel upper extension (triangle piece)

3. Using a suitable flat-bladed tool, gently pry the manual lock lever from the door trim panel

4. Remove the trim panel screws (one inside door lock lever, one in front of the armrest)

5. Carefully slide the trim panel up in order to release the retainers from the door

6. Disconnect the electrical connectors

Works great.

Addition to Baimpala's instructions,

4a. remove buttons toward front and rear of
door and unscrew covered screws then continue with step 5.

at least on my 04.5

Thanks guys, that helps a bunch. I think Im probably getting resistance from the manual lock lever, I never pryed it out. By the way the reason Im taking the panels off is that Im adding some LED clearance lights to the bottom of my camper mirrors, and I have them wired in to a rocker switch in the overhead console. I just wanted to run the wires through the door with the existing wires for a nice and neat look. Ill post some pics when Im done. I think it looks good so far, but then again I dont like my trucks to look like anybody elses.

That's weird. I don't have any buttons on my doors at all.
Maybe the GMC and Chevy's are different, what trim package do you
have. I just posted the instructions for the one I have, which I
figured is the same as the SLT 9W3-HD has. . . Good to know.

Thanks,

Dennis

SLT package, discovered buttons when installing TTT mirrors, their instructions did not include the buttons either...
