I ordered a set of the "old style" cab lights for my truck. They look great and worked great at first, but then the bulbs started falling out of the socket and therefore, not lighting. Called Recon and talked to Heath and he bent over backwards to get me a new set out asap. The new lights are supposed to be better and not near the problems. I know they have gotten some bad rap on this sight, but just wanted to say they were a good vendor to me and very happy with the customer service. I can't wait to get the new ones on!!! Will post pictures if I can figure out how to get them on the site.

The new ones are supposed to be LED and a better seal on the roof. My old ones were still under warranty, they are sending me the new ones as they do not make the old style anymore.

I have never had any issues with mine;)

I REALLY like the looks of the 07.5 cab lights on my 06. I was almost gonna pull the trigger on the recons till I saw the post about the new ones on old trucks. They are bright as hell.

The new LED ones look real nice. Installed a set last week on a buddy's truck. I don't like the orange look though. I would LOVE a super white set in LED but i don't think they make them :o:

At least with the bulb set you can run any color you lile. Red/Green at xmas time :D

Thats very funny. You most likely would be busted. I called Recon, and they said the reason for the amber l.e.d's is becasue thats what is legal. They said any other color on the top of the cab is not d.o.t approved. Since when have we been dot compliant. LOL. Anyway, i guess they made a wise choice because my brother got pulled over with blue bulbs in his cab lights. Osky, great to know Recon helped you out. I guess they are not that bad afterall. Good customer service goes a long way. Take some oics of your truck so we can see them.

I will take some pics when I get them on. They will be here either Saturday or Monday. Hopefully Saturday so I can get them on!!!

Osky, are those recon's replacements to factory or did you put them on aftermarket? If aftermarket where did you get them installed?

They are factory replacements. Just take the orange ones off and put these on. My truck didn't come with any cab lights. I had to drill the holes and do the wiring myself. Not too bad of a job.

Just make sure you leave room for the moisture to vent out. Make that mistake before and siliconed the roof where the wires came through. They need air to breath otherwise they will dis-color and collect the moisture.

I thought the center had to have only three lights to be legal.

Not sure what the laws are, but they look neat and lots of people ask about them. You really can't tell how many lights there are when driving down the road, only when you are stopped and up close you can see the lights.

They look good. I have the old style and they have sucked since day 1. I have not had the same luck with customer service from recon and think there service sucks pretty bad also. The middle light out of say 4 months of having them maybe the outside bulb on the passenger side has worked for 2 weeks.

Theres nothing I have tried that has got it stay on. Its pretty frustrating when you can't get something to work correctly and the company doesn't care.
