: Quadzilla Disadvantages?

As you can see from my other post, I'm considering a TTS tune for my LLY.

I really like the looks of the Quad Stealth Tuner, too.

Here are my criteria:

1. I need to be able to easily decrease power for icy roads. These diesels break loose easy enough as it is.

2. I'm not after more than about 60 HP because I plan to leave the trans stock.

3. I'd like to be able to program for larger tires and remove my speed limiter.

Basically, I'm after a solid, no-nonsense mild program that isn't going to harm my engine or cause real drivability issues.

It's hard to pass on the Edge/Attitude, but I think I can get more bang for my buck with a "tuner" type setup. I plan to add gauges regardless.

Any reason people don't like the Quad?

I have the Quad 135, Love it! I keep it on level 2 (90HP).

You "plan" to stay at 60 HP, but if your like the rest of us that plan won't last long, it's addictive.

YEP. What pilot said ! The quad tuner is not adjust on the fly though if that is what you want. YOu would just have to keep it on the lower setting all the time i guess. No real down falls with the Quad tuner other than on the high settings it smokes like a freight train. But to me that is ok !http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif

I think the non hot Attitude will fit you as well as any for its protection and shift on the fly.

I think racehemi has had both so he would be a good person to talk to. Shoot him a PM

I have had both too and from what it looks like you want , i would prolly go with the regular Edge (up to 90hp). It takes seconds to install/uninstall and seconds to adjust while in the cab !! Glad you are concerned about slick highways cause i have had mine almost get away from me on wet on-ramps.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley18.gif

Thanks Ratlover, I'll do that.

While I really like the Attitude, I'd like to be able to actually have my stock speedometer read correctly with larger tires.

Quadzilla disadvantages????????

First lets start with the ADVANTAGES.

1. 4 power levels to choose from.

2. Increased Rev limiter ( allows you to never hit the cutout on normal shifts)

3. Greatly increases off idle acceleration. ( warning: may smoke)

Now here are the disadvantages.

1. Possible 0234 overboost codes

2. Possible light throttle/load engine rattle

3. Quad might be hard to get ahold of if you push the wrong buttons.

4. After you see the bully dog container, the bully dog chip inside and see the 150 HP option( with appropriate code entered), you might feel like youve been had by Fraudzilla.

Overall the tunes run real strong/smooth and do a real good job at concealing/eliminating turbo lag.

i would ask tbone1227. he has run the TTS, the edge, and the quad
box on his LLY. send him a pm or maybe he'll chime in.

where to start - TTS, TTS, TTS, and did i mention TTS !!! it is by far the best out there by a long shot. Only downside is no power options (yet) and its in the pcm, which may or may not be a problem - for me it isnt a problem at all, very easy to swap out and the power is awesome for it being just a tow tune. As for the others - edge/attitude isnt bad, makes good power, but has quirks that edge is either denying or wont fix, and you cant recalibrate for speedo - bullydog, ive tried both the tuner and plug in, pretty much the same as the edge, except not as much power and not as many quirks, although with the tuner you can adjust for speedo correction, and it seems to make more torque than the edge ( seat of pants ) - quad plug in, this one didnt work too well for me, turbo wasnt dialed in at all and the de-fuel was terrible as well as the shifting, i havent tried the tuner though, and it didnt seem to produce a lot of torque.

in a few weeks you can add a outlook monitor to your pup and defuel a tuner 5 power levels to stock with gauges

under $700.00 for the whole package

It sounds like you are looking for the TTS Tow Tune. Smooth power, no speed limiter, tire correction. It's a 24/7 tune that you run all the time. It makes the truck actually drive better than stock and won't hurt your fuel mileage.
