Sorry to intrude in the place of cheaper fuel.....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif

For my wife's POS I am looking for some recommendations on fuel injector cleaner. I use STP every oil change.

Wondering if there is better out there?

chevron's techtron is excellent, amsoil has a couple that are very good as well, Gumout by regane is excellent. All are far superior to stp.

Been getting good reports on mpg with shell's vpower as well. I run this as maintence doses.

Thanx Salesrep. Will do some searching on the internet for availability.

On edit....

I have ordered stuff from stateside and had a high fee for brokerage
fees (for importing) at the boarder. Very leery of buying from
the U.S. Kinda ticks me off that I can't do much with the vendors
of the DIESEL PLACE.

We have a warehouse in Canada. Naturally we offer fuel treatments in addition to the oils.

After trying multiple products and not telling any difference, I had it suggested to try BG44K. Will keep using it.

http://www.bgprod.com/bgprofessional/bgproducts/autofuel.htm (http://www.bgprod.com/bgprofessional/bgproducts/autofuel.html) l

If the system has never been cleaned, BG44K is best, if a newer truck, BG MI 3000 Plus is fine.

BG 44K® Advanced Formula

BG 44K Advanced Formula safely, rapidly and thoroughly removes engine deposits in carburetors, intake manifolds, ports and on valves. It restores flow in fuel injectors and cleans the entire fuel system. BG 44K Advanced Formula improves fuel economy and reduces exhaust emissions. It actually restores that "like new" driveability to an engine's performance and keeps it running better, longer and more efficiently. Add one 11 oz. can or bottle to fuel tank at fill-up. This product is a part of the BG TDC® program.

NOTE: After clean-up with BG 44K Advanced Formula, regular use of BG Supercharge® II (PN 202) in gasoline engines or BG Diesel Fuel Conditioner with DPL (PN 2276) in diesel engines will prevent deposits from forming in the fuel system and upper engine for maximum driveability and fuel economy.

BG MI 3000® Plus
BG MI 3000 Plus gasoline supplement is a unique, high-tech formulation designed to provide Deposit Control throughout the life of the engine. Added to vehicle fuel tank every 4,000 miles, BG MI 3000 Plus will keep intake manifolds, intake ports, intake valves and combustion chambers clean and free of damaging deposits. Maintains "like-new" engine performance. One 11 oz. can treats 15 gallons of fuel. This product is a part of the BG TDC® program.

I've used a product called Seafoam for a while, but to be honest I've never felt/seen any injector cleaner do much of anything.

Yep, seafoam has been aroun forever (actually 1946, used for marine
applications, hence the name) I've been quite impressed by how much
carbon that stuff will disolve when poured into the cylinders and left
over night....neat stuffhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley20.gif

Bar none, this is clearly the best way to get the ENTIRE engine cleaned
out. I had this done at about 55k and the car was a night an day
difference (your results may very).

...and no I don't work for the company....just found out about this on the
impalassforum.

I've used a bunch of different products and cant tell you a difference in any of them, problem is they just get lost in the tank so to speak. I have had the best results using a good cleaner that is fed directly through the fuel rail using a pressurezied tank. Disable the fuel system and run the vehicle on the cleaner or a mix. GM Top Engine Clean works very well, but I also like the SeaFoam stuff as well.. My dealer uses the BG products but its a revenue generator first.....a maint item second.

My two cents on sea foam. I have felt the difference using it on
two vehicles that were stored for 2 years, it made them both
come to life.

For an instant difference I used it in a chain saw that was
running rough - after putting it in and running it, it ran like new,
and also it idled, which it never did before the seafoam.

Thanx guys. The stuff I want to use will be added every oil change.

The I.V. drip into the rails I probably wouldn't bother, unless a problem showed up.

Also gotta wonder about whether it (fuel injector cleaner) is really
worth using at all? People don't notice any difference.
Maybe there is not a problem that needs correcting in the first
palce? My wife has a fairly heavy foot at times, so I gotta
presume there may not be dirty fuel injectors.....?

Where did you buy the seafoam?

brazos - I'm not sure about texas, but here in wisconsin you can find it at almost any automotive store....I have a pile of it here at Napa, if you want to try some, find a napa store down there...the part number is sf-16......

As dmaxallitech said, Gm's top engine cleaner works well too..Actually, I think it's the same stuff, just a different name on the can, but I can't prove that....
