How hard is it too get to the coolant drain on my rad? I can't see it from above or below the truck and there is no rad cap. There is a plastic cover underneath hinged at the front that looks like it drops down, is the drain easy to get at from there? I know, I should just drop the cover and look, but its cold and wet out there, but nice and warm by the cozy 'puter screen. Any thoughts on how to flush, and tap water or distilled? Thanks guys

The rad cap is on the overflow tank next to the firewall, pass side.
Tap water is fine for flushing, Prestone makes a kit that splices a garden hose into your heater core hose.

I prefer to have my cooling system power flushed at my local Kwik Kar every 100000 miles or so at the same time that they change my oil, BTE I have my oil changed every 3000 miles or so.

I checked out Kennedy's site, lot's of good info, but how do you get to the drain without cutting these holes? Sorry to sound like an idiot, but man, does it have to be this complicated. I had the front off my truck a month ago too clean the rad and coolers and still couldn't see a drain.

I'm trying to imagine what is in the way to keep you from seeing it, I know what you mean, I had to search for mine a long time too. It's a white plug on the bottom of the driver's side corner of the rad.
I accessed mine from under the hood. I had to use a small wrench to break the drain loose, the first time. Luckily it is stronger than it looks.

The other thing you can do is just remove the lower raditor hose from the raditor, that can be easier then getting at the drain.
