Is it possible to drop a new duramax engine into a late model chevy truck or blazer with all the proper parts and harnesses. I have no knowledge of such things, any info is great.

While it isn't impossible, it definately would be a LOT of work. It would also be fairly expensive.

Diesel Power from thedieselpage.com is actually in the process of putting a duramax in a pre 98 truck. You have to be a paying member to read any of the articles on it though. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley3.gif Edited by: Max Power

Money is not an issue, I'm just wondering about the amount of work it would take. I have a friend that "knows" a guy that dropped a cat diesel engine in a crew cab 96' chevy truck. He says he gets insane power along with incredible gas mileage. I was just wondering if it was possible. I am not a big fan of the newer body styles that chev is coming out with and after climbing into one, they feel so much smaller. I'm a big guy at 6'6", 280lbs. I like all the room I can get.
