I am reading that turning off the turbo at idle for an lly increasing rumble. I also see that this causes a lack of boost in low rpms, off idle. At what setting are you guys puting yours at? You don't really completely shut it off at idle do ya?

Just open the vanes up a good amount at 300-600. It should close up pretty good when you get onto the throttle a bit. It may hurt nailing it from a dead stop.....but I never do that realy. Play around with it and see what you think. Take a look at the actual vane position at an idle and move it down till you get the noise if your concened. I noticed getting it down to 40% or so at idel deepened up the note quite a bit.

Mess with the target vane position in the lower RPM. Smaller the number the more open it is and less boost it will make. Not relay turning it off but you get the idea :)

you don't do that much phil???? Since when... Or do you mean you spool up before launching from the stop lights?

By the way are you changing the vane position purely to get the sound?

I dont just hamer it from a dead stop. If i want to go I will put her in 4x4 and build some boost :D Otherwise I'm nailing it from a roll.

And yes.....I (like many others) want our trucks to sound like the old LB7's :D Seems guys want thier LiLYs to sound like LB7s is what brought this about, they are just in denile that the LB7 is what they realy want ):h

i do the same for my lbz-from 1000 rpm and below my vanes are at 5% for 5 and 10 mm of fuel-it definatly makes a sound difference

have you felt any lag issues by doing this?
