i just bought a hot edge or i think its hot. i bought it off of ebay and its the 4.61 version and it says in magic marker on the tag "hot". i think the model is ejc-1000, does that sound familier? it doesn't have the attitude hook ups, i was wondering shall i bother with the attitude or just put guages on my post? im in college, which means not alot of cash flow, so the cheapest and most effective route would be the best. i just was wondering for when i do do something.

Send it to edge get version 4.81 and get the attitude monitor.
IMHO cheaper than doing gauges and a pod and an easier install.
I run both sets of gauges... pre turbo (edge) and post (isspro)
so i am not much help here.
but the attitude has a wealth of features that make for a really nice all around package

Call Edge and try to get ahold of Aaron. He is a hell of a nice guy even if he does own a Dodge(tell him I said that toohttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/hihi.gif) See if they will work out some sorta exchange type deal for you to get the new juice capable of hooking up an attitude and get the attitude. He may have you go through a vendor? The attitude isnt much more than a gauge package and pod and all that. Great bang for the buck.
If you get a hot attitude(145 or so hp) or if you get the 125hp attitude you shouldnt run over the 90hp setting if you dont want to have to upgrade or rebuild the ally. The hot non attitude box should be the 125 hp tune.

well what do yall think about that kit from bullydog for the ally that only costs $110 and it adds 50 more hp holding power. is it worth a damn. it looks like it only has 4 or 5 parts u add to the tranny without haveing to drop it.
would this make it safe to run the higher levels, i only run them when i see a powerjoke comin up trying to be badass and have to set them straight.

Honestly, get a Suncoast lev2, then if you decide to run a higher power level you can do it more often and safely.
At the minimum to a transgo and convertor.
The more you play... the more you pay...
I only say this because of the larger number of powerstrokes out there.... you will be playing often....

Leave the bullydog kit on the shelf, you will be wasting your money. Second, I think you would be wise to get the attitude, but I however like Juice run both. I think you will be happier with the digital readouts from the attitude whether than trying to read gauges all the time. Me personally I just like having the triple pod in plain view of a potential kill...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley17.gif

Ever notice the amount of other Duramax owners that stop to talk to you while fuelling up? The most asked question is... those gauges look cool! why do you need them? Are they factory installed, because my truck didn't come with them! Are you chipped as well? Which one? How much Power? What did that cost? How fast is it?
But it seems that you get less diesels that want to go for it.... i know i look for gauges of any type now when one pulls next to me. Not that i am particularly concerned, i just want to know if i should set the box on 'stoopid' or nothttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/hihi.gif

There is a setting other than stoopid? You learn something new every dayhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif You signed your parental consent form from Steve yet?http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif
I prefer the "stealth approach" But Guy was came out with his overhead bling bling pod a couple weeks after I hacked my factory pillar for the gauge pod. I havent found a gauge pod that didnt look cheesyhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley7.gif To a diesel nut a gauge pod just screams "I'm BOMBed" as much as a soot covered fender, some want to show to the world they are bombed some dont. Diesel guys are easy to "make your intention known". Just throw a little puff of smoke and we know that its on like donkey kong.
Dont bother with the bully dog kit.
If you have the resources droping and modding an allison is pretty easy. The innards of an allison are simple.

Mind you, the first thing i look at is the exhaust pipe and bumper...hmmm black bumper, ya, he's got some schtuff going on...or Bliiing Bliiing tip over 3"... possibly, BOMBed.... over 3" tip... yup to be safe ..... Red Alert! Shields to Maximum, Warm up the Weapons!, Mr Scott, Enable 'Stoopid' on the Dilythium injectors. If that BasT*rd so much as twitches, I'm gonna blow him straight to Mars!
