I'm fortunate to live close by and went directly to PPE. Sales manager Dan Grant loaded the tuner in to my truck. I told Dan I was going to be hauling my 10,000 lb. 5th. wheel out to Havasu. Dan recommended going with level 2 for the power setting. Just in level 2 this thing gets up and moves. I had a 2004.5 Duramax with the Edge Juice & Attitude. It ran good and smoked like crazy. My LMM just in stock form seemed to match my 2004.5 with the Edge set at level 2 or 3. This new PPE tuner is nice. When cruising around town the truck shifts smooth and no smoke at all. I use to hate the black exhaust stains on my white garage walls.......lol. Under hard acceleration in level 2, this thing will break the tires loose going into second. EGT's have been low. Freeway driving at 65-70 the EGT's are at about 700 and that's with a slight incline. I'll let everyone know how the EGT's are pulling my trailer up the steep grades. So far it looks like PPE did their homework.
2007.5 LMM, 285 BFG's, FS2500 oil filtration, Redline EGT guage, Line-X, Billet Bow-Tie, Complete in-dash DVD system, headrest monitors, amp and (2) 10" subs & PPE X-celerator turner..............:grd:

Sounds great. I will be installing mine as soon as I get some more miles on. Let me know what else you think after you are done with your hauling trip.

x2 i would like to know fuel mileage ,with / without.
I'm torn on what to get. I really would like a PPE but I also would like a setup with the readout you can put on your dash and change things on the fly or have a read out for the EGT's and things. Like the Edge Juice w/Attitude Sorry if that sounds really newbish but I'm pretty new to all of this diesel stuff. Just been reading all I can about it.
Anyways can I get a PPE X-Celerator and have it setup like that? Also I would like it tranny safe, which I know takes some action from me.

Does the chip improve mileage and if so what is the approximate amount of improvement?

I was told by Dan, the sales manager, that your best mileage is in the top setting, which would be #4. Prior to installing the tuner I got 16 on the hwy and 12-13 around town. I'll let you know what I get towing my trailer. We should see 2-4 mpg increase with the PPE tuner

PPE carries a product similar to the Edge, it's call the Duramaximizer. It allows you adjust the power settings while on the move. I don't think they have it out yet for the new LMM motor.

These are the same mileage numbers I am seeing on level 4. (if you keep your foot out of it). When your foot is on the floor alot, the mileage sucks (but who cares). The truck sure does regen alot when you push it on level 4.

I think I can tell, but when you push the truck on level 4, it seems to smell like something is burning. You can just notice something is different with the truck, like an elevated idle. It may be just the truck getting hotter then it has before and burning the new off. If I drive it really easy it does not seem too smell though.
