I dont see much on the 6.5 here. I know it's no powerhouse, but I just want more kick out of it. I have a newly reman. 6.5 (1994 model) getting ready to upgrade the downpipe/exhaust this week. The next steps for me are a chip and either propane or nitrous. What are the up/downsides to these, and what kind of power can the 4L80E handle?? I just replaced it with a reman as well, and would cry if I broke it in half!!

You can basically max out a 6.5 with just fuel and boost. I would leave the rest out, as the bottom end is rather shaky...T

Think of nitrous as air and propane as fuel. You can run both actually.....although I duno how a 6.5 would like lotsa propane and N2O.

If you need extra fuel add propane and if you have lotsa fuel(lotsa smoke) add N2O.

Edit: if you dont want to smoke anything then I would say you might wana leave it realativley stock, probably dont want to dump a bunch of laughing gas to it unless you are curious to see the limits of your truck. Edited by: ratlover

Thanks, what do I need to get to max out the fuel and boost? I've read about a "fooler" for the boost, and i'm assuming a chip for the fuel?? I should have a downpipe some time this week, and am going to upgrade the air filter/box as soon as $$ and the wife allow it.

Also, has anyone used or know about the chips that have been on EBAY the past few weeks for the 6.5??

They claim to give 80hp and 150 ft lbs
