Anybody else having a issues with the rearends in the duallys. On mine you can set the parking brake put it in (N) climb under the truck and mark the driveline at the 12 oclock position and turn it to the 3 oclock before anything catches and the dealer says thats ok.Pulling my toyhauler with this thing is like riding on a pogo stick.I think the dealer is full of crap.
Mine does darn near the same thing. I did'nt check how far it moved but it did move and seemed to be an unreasonable amount. Also, while driving I was feeling something unusual: after coming to a stop and just prior to accelerating, I would feel what I thought was a drivetrain delay; it felt like another car was slightly bumping my rear end after taking my foot off the brake and placing on accelerator. I was concerned because I pull a toyhauler also and am taking it to CO next month;sooo, I took it to the dealer and they said the same thing. No biggie. They also said that before I bought it some "test drivers" may have driven it hard and the allison somehow compensated for that with a bit of slop ...and it should tighten with time. (??) Sounds odd, but with a 100K drivetrain warranty, I'm not going to sweat it.

I was just going to ask a similar question, I describe it as slack in the driveshaft?

I dont know the answer but this could be a possible consideration.
The gears are initially set up with a little slop in them to compensate for heat builup during operation. As the heat increases the slop goes away. If you set them up too tight(less slop) the heat could cause the gears to actually get too tight and cause lots of damage.
I had a similar issue with an older 1 ton rear(14bolt) and when I asked about the slop, I was told to try checking it after running it for a few miles. I did and the slop was noticeably less.

Only thing I did to mine was shear a leafspring tie bolt off have rearend kick sideways into my passenger side fender and bust it to hell on the highway.

There was a thread on this in the 3500 dually section.
