OTHER THAN THAT I WOULD RECOMMEND A FORD PSD TO ANYONE. OH, BY THE WAY. I WAS A LOYAL CHEVY TRUCK MAN FOR 30 YEARS. I GOT TIRED OF TAKING THEM IN FOR A/C, TRANSMISSIONS, AND ENGINE PROBLEMS. It's got a redisigned front suspension (4x4) that eliminates the leaf
springs and brings on coils (read.... Dodge). There are complaints
about the new control arm being massiv and not very off road friendly
but most won't have an issue with it.



The 6.0/Torqshift is an excellent combination as long as the old 03
issues on th eengine dont crop up. I drove one with a chip and all I
cac say is... awesome.. blows GM and Dodge away... From me that's
saying something but I still don't trust Ford engineering.

hoot: you mean a chiped duramax against a chiped ford, with about the same sise chips, the winner would be ford, wow

I think hoot drove a truck with a Predator programmer. That's usually good for about a 14 sec. 1/4. If someone just wants to buy a programmer or moderate chip then a ford would probably be the way to go. Where I think the Dmax has the advantage is in the tranny. You can spend about 3500 and throw just about whatever you want at it, ford doesn't have that luxury yet. Go to the diesel stop and look for tranny failures. I have heard that The Torque-Shift doesn't shift well with big programs, even when the tranny is redone.(Something about electronic solenoid controlled.) Although Quad had a thread on the diesel stop about a tranny control module that is in the works.

I just posted about Fords numbers just before I read this thread. My questions are in the "Did Ford de-tune the PSD" thread. How are they still claiming "class leading HP and torque when Chevy and Dodge are higher and why did their numbers drop from 3 months ago?
