My NSBU went south a couple of weeks ago. It actually took it a good two weeks to completely die. During that time I drove it when I had to and while the indicator would rarely show what gear I was in the trans still shifted through all 5. Late last week the CEL came on and I was limited to 3rd gear only so I parked the truck until I had time to replace the NSBU this afternoon. I thought with the new NSBU the CEL would reset and I would have all 5 gears again, but that didn't happen. I still have the CEL and only 3rd gear. If I get the CEL reset will the tranny go back to normal? Should I try to install another new NSBU? I'm at a loss here and I really need to get my truck back on the road.

Some trucks need to have the code(s) cleared before they start working again. Give that a try first and if it still doesn't work I'd readjust the NSBU. They have to be perfectly aligned in Neutral to work.
