: Anyone interested in my ’97 Sierra?

For those who don't remember, my truck threw the #8 rod 2 months ago.
Rather than replacing the engine and continuing to drive it, I decided
that it was better to just buy a new truck. Part of this decision was
based on the fact that my friend had agreed to buy the truck. He has
since backed out of his initial decision, which leaves me somewhat
frustrated. So, before I put the thing up on eBay I thought I'd make a
post here and see if anyone's interested. Here's the information:

1997 GMC Sierra 2500 Long Bed / Extended cab. 6.5TD / 4L80-E tranny.
173k on clock. I changed the diff fluid and tranny fluid/filter when I
got it (142k) and then again at 172k miles. Oil was changed at or
before 3k while I owned it (not that that matters at this point), and I
have a Motorguard bypass filter (which tended to leak a small amount on
me). The truck has a new A/C compressor and receiver/dryer as of June
of this year complete with R-134a and dye in the system. The tensioner
and belt were changed at 145k. The climate control cluster on the dash
was changed this summer. It has a Blaupunkt AM/FM/CD headunit with an
input that you can plug into your laptop, 7-pin trailer connector, push
bar with 2 lights on it (one is burnt out), and I will include matching
brush guards that I never installed. You'll want to rewire it, I never
did it properly (switch is just dangling on the interior). The truck
has a Heath TurboMaster on it and includes a new PMD in box. I changed
the wastegate solenoid on it over the summer as well to make a SES
light go away. It also has a headache rack with bed rails that have a
cutout for a toolbox and GM Duraliner. Tailgate is screwed up (only
latches on one side). For pictures that I took when I bought it, see:

It's a bit more beat up now (mainly dirtier), but hasn't changed a huge
sum. The engine is in it now with the oil pan off. Would be a great
work truck (as I used it), or else great for parts.

Right now the truck is located in Terre Haute, Indiana. I would be
willing to tow it as far south as San Antonio, Texas, as far east as
New York. Basically anywhere within about 1000 miles or so for the
price of fuel and some extra money for an oil change and wear and tear
on my new truck/trailer.

Anyone who's interested, PM me with offers or other questions. I'll
probably put it up on eBay in a week or so if someone off of here
doesn't want to buy it.

I'd also consider parting it out if I get enough people interested in buying parts off of it.

It's just a short block and two days labor away from running again.

Yep, exactly. Two days that I don't have but for someone who has the time I would be willing to make a good offer to.

How much are you looking to get for it?

gslam88 right now I'm asking for offers, and will work from there. I
see you're in CT, which I would be able to deliver it to if you wanted.
If you're interested in buying it, PM me with what you would be willing
to pay for it and we'll work from there. But to give you an idea if I
were to put it on eBay I think I'd start the auction at $2000 with no
reserve.

bowtie, as I said in my initial post, the truck is located in Terre Haute, IN and has a 4L80-E automatic tranny.

Since you're in Oklahoma, we could probably figure out some delivery options.

I got a motor for that beast with 71K or 122,000km on it.

1 year old pump from GM under warranty.

Alt, oil and water sensors not included. I needed them so the dash would work,

Since nobody has made an offer but a few people have stated they're
interested, I'll say I would be happy getting $2500 out of the truck,
and will accept any reasonable offer.

I wish I had the extra money I need to find a replacement body for my Suburban but I am fixing to retire from the Army and with the job market the way it is any money I have saved up will go to living until I find a job BUT if it come down to the fact you need to get it out of there I am not that far from Terre Haute I will pick it up and put it to good use I have a nice 6.5 with less then 15000 miles on it that would fit like a glove and an 84 Suburban that is rusting around it

I got a fair 87 burban with a gasser in it. I can help you out with that wish for a new body for just $1800.00.
