There is a DIY for this, which you can find here:

I like to change mine out every other oil change, or around 15000 miles.

fuel filters should be changed every 15,000 according to gm i wait till signs of plugging start -lack of power, not able to obtain rpms the filter is on the pass side it has a o ring and an inner seal on top and another o ring between the plastic housing that unscrews at the bottom i find a swivel handle filter tool works best at the bottom next to engine will be a wiring connector that needs to be undone and then making sure wires are not in the filter tool un screw the filter i have pushed the ac line out of my way so no longer stops filter from being lifted out now when you look at the top you will see the oring and inner seal both are black against white if not present remove from filter housing using channel pliers take off the bottom float housing remove o ring and install new o ring and screw onto new filter use a light coating of oil on inner seal and o ring install filter and turn on next unscrew the bleeder screw it is black and PLASTIC be careful give it about 2 turns that center metal cap on top is the primer pump push it down until you have s stream of fuel with out air bubbles 12 to 30 pumps close bleeder screw and pump until HARD 3 more ?? pumps maybe and start if no air leaks it will run if fuel leaks a seal got installed wrong i only hand thighten my filter as a lot of problems with the al housing cracking according to a lot of threads
