Finaly got to change my spin on this morning nad upon taking it off and draining the filter and what dribbled out of the pan, i found the color to be a little less than i was expecting, yet maybe this is normal i dont know....Ive only towed a few thousand lbs twice(22.5ft combine grain head) 4 miles prolly total. I bought the truck w/exactly 24k and now it has 30,150. When i talked to the previous owner he said he had hauled some dirt w/it, but dont remember him givin an amt....anyways heres a photo...i didnt reuse the fluid just in case...Thanks-Adam

Hey Polar bear. I am no expert but the jug on the left looks great. How does it smell? Was there any burnt smell to it? I will bet it smelled fine. I just changed mine Filter and 8 qts of Dextron 3 I wish I had done it sooner but it seemed fine too.

I've seen that color (right)fluid in a stock Allison.If I hadn't deleted that section on my Pbase account I could've shown you.

the purple(right) stuff was what came out of the filter, the red (left) containter was the new dexron 3 that i ahd...i didnt really smell anything w/the purple stuff...tranny wasnt up to temp tho, was just only above 100....my temp has never hit 150...
