I couldn't get a thread on the two center boltholes on the upper intake snorkel and my boost was maxing at 3 psi due to the leak.

I don't have the EGR cuts, just the boss and with an inch removed I could thread the center bolts another inch and put some torque on all six for a change.

Thats a good idea.

I've had to helicoil one of mine already, I need to go back and helicoil the rest soon, they're all getting pretty weak.

Is there a torque # for those bolts? I just usually use one hand up close to the ratchet to tighten, no leaks yet.

Looks like you got a little grinder happy there QM. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif

Grinder takes too long. I used a 14"metal cut off saw and worked the piece around the friction wheel. You can see where I went a touch too far. 4 min. of work. D

Didn't make a difference. I guess I'll put fresh donut's in the morning and see if that was it.

Nope, not the donuts. still 3 psi. 3psi with or without fooler. must be a big leak.Edited by: quantum mechanic
