Aftr installing an Oil Guard Filter System on a Duramax how does one drain the oil .


The Oilguard kit has a new drain plug that replaces the standard drain plug on your oil pan. This new drain plug is a large hex shaped plug with 2 ports on it. One port is hooked up to the return oil line. This is where the clean oil from the Oilguard filter unit returns back to the oil pan. On the opposite side of the new plug is another port, same size. It has a small hex plug that caps that hole off. When it is time to drain the oil you just remove that small hex plug and the oil drains out. It will drain a little slow because the opening is only about 1/4 inch.


I have not needed to drain my oil yet. 11k miles and all is well so far. SPICER
