Can anyone recommend a good product to
treat/preserve the door rubber weather-stripping?

Armor All?

Armor Al will cause the doors to squeak over every bump/twist. I would use a silicon spray from your local parts store yet. I have seen many people recommend electrical di-electric silicon paste, Like the kind that comes with a fisher plow.

ah ha!! Maybe that's why my damn door won't quit squeaking!

If you are going to use silicone spray, get a styrofoam cup and spray some in it first. If it eats the cup, then it isn't what you want to put on the weatherstripping.

Gm makes a product just for this. I'll see if I can find a part # or product name.

I use PRESTONE Silicone Lubricant( High Viscosity Formula ) Won't know how good it is for 4-5 years. The Texas sun eats that rubber trim and weather stripping up.I put it on twice a year.

GM recommends Dielectric Silicone grease. The part # is in the manual.

I second the dielectric grease. AAMOF, that's all I've ever used. Seems to work, with no deterioration of the rubber either.

I use dielectric grease as well. Worked very well on my 01 extended cab to eliminate squeaking. Don't have any problems with the 03 either!

I never used Armorall on my rubber components. I have been happy with STP Son-of-a-Gun for many years on gaskets, tires and weatherstrips as it is a petroleum-based compound versus silicone - doesn't evaporate away, squeak or deterioriate the rubber.
