Im new to gm trucks. What i need to know is what is the cheapest way i can clear my 33x12.50x20 Toyo M/Ts on 20x12 Weld Cheyenne wheels? Id like to go with a 6in. lift and turn it down to 4 or 5 inches in the front but its 2 grand for a lift down here in Fla. installed. I have a 2007 GMC LT3 classic 4 dr. 4x4 SB Duramax. Good riddance of my 04 Ford 6.0 powerstroke! Also any pics of this set up anyone? Would love to see it! Any info would be greatly appreciated. My wheels came off of my Ford, anyone had their wheels drilled to fit a GM truck? There is a place in Tampa, Fla. that does so, dont know how or how well it works. I haul buggies, jeeps and airboats quite often, nothing real heavy. Thanks.

You are going to have to go 6in (more than likely - it is hard to say without actually testing) with a 12in wheel. That sucker is wide. It is also going to depend on the backspacing also..
On a 9in wheel you can fit it with just a leveling kit but with a 12 it is going to be difficult.. You could get it under a Cognito 4 inch if you dropped the Welds to a 10 and had them build them with the correct offset.
good luck.

I have 305/55/20's on 20x9 with NO lift, keys or leveling kit. Torsion bars cranked 6-7 turns and some inner trimming work. Only rubs on sharp turns and thats it.. Sawzall had to be broken out on the LMM.

Had their wheels drilled to fit another truck, like 8on170 (Ford)to fit 8on6.5 (GM)? There is a guy in Tampa that does this, kind of leary though. Dont want to get rid of my 20x12 Weld Cheyennes off my Ford, got a new GMC now. Those wheels cost an arm and a leg! Its around $140.00 a wheel to get this done.

Is Jim Lowe offering this service to you? If so he is one of the best, but I still dont recommend drilling 8 lug wheels....period. 20x12's are probably more trouble than they are worth on your application, but we can do it.
