I was wondering if anyone else has done this. I've got a diamond plate toolbox and also have the diamond plate bed caps on the side. I need some more dry storage for trips and want to install a rolling lockable bed cover. Has anyone installed one of these style covers on their truck with a tool box also? The rolling drum for the cover would go up against the toolbox instead of the back of the bed.....I'm trying to figure out if this is going work? Anyone done it yet?

We do that with the Retrax all the time. Everyone I know who has done it, loves it. Hopefully you have a long box though or you will start to get pretty limited in space.

Nope, I've got a short bed.

I've looked @ the Retrax before. How does that work if you're using it with a toolbox? Can you just cut the side rails down to the length you need? I just measured my bed. From the back of my toolbox to my tailgate I've got 4'-11".

With the retrax you need to measure everything and they will custom make one for you. It takes a week or two. Then all you need to do is put a piece of aluminum angle iron on the tool box to simulate the from of the box. They include that as well. It's a very nice setup.

Others worth looking at that are available to work with toolboxes: Access Cover (soft vinyl) and Undercover (hard cover, not retractable).
