I've been considering upgrading my airbox to the later style round filter instead of my stock square one....Then I saw the price of the round filters, so today I cleaned my good ol square K&N once again ;)

But I to would like to see what you've done Ruben.

I use a Wix HD filter. It's bigger that the standard round filter so the cover does not fit, I don't use it anyways, so it sits in the filter box and I use permatec black to make a seal on the air intake tube and tyrap the filter in place.

Has anyone tried one of these?

I realize that it would draw intake air from the engine compartment, but it would attach directly to the turbo inlet, and it would look pretty neat.Edited by: Texas Diesel Guy

would you suck in the hot air causing problems with IAT and stuff like that. I have something like that on my caprice but it has a plate built to keep hot engine air from the intake air stream

TDG, i put one of those on my 95 turbo inlet just for a test, made no difference in any power but in just 1 short 100 km trip it was full of bugs and debri's, i removed it when i got home. Looked cool, that was about its only function. I think there's alot less area to them also so i'm sure they'd plug up alot sooner.
