While out elk hunting I experience a few times that when I'd turn on my truck the radio wouldn't produce any volume. I could change the station, change the volume, adjust speaker settings/locations but no sound...

If I turned off the radio and back on again everything would work. Anyone else seeing this. I'm using the regular portion of my factory XM equipped radio...

My 2 yr old boy made the lights go out on my wifes radio and it was
that way for a couple days and never figured it out, played just fine
tho (just the radio, other lights, dash, etc were fine). Other
than that never had a problem with the newer factory stereos, they seem
to be of much better quality then they used to. Elk hunting, I
want to do that http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley19.gif

Mine did it once about 8 months ago. Been fine since then. I believe there is a TSB about this for the '03's. You should be able to find it using the search button.

Do you remember where you say that TSB for 03's? I did a search on it and didn't find anything.

Thanks

Thanks!!! I'm not sure that is the same problem I have. Mine seems to not pick up stations as well as it did.

my problem fits the TSB... thanks.

I bet it's carried over to the 04's as that's what I drive.

Call it in for a repair when I get time.

Another free oil change on it's way. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley32.gif Got to love it.

Must be great to be able to hunt Elk let alone while listening to the radio http://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/hihi.gif. I would kill (no pun intended) for an Elk permit in MI.

We have an elk farm right down the street. In fact my wife buy hay for her horse from him occasionally.

The thing I have noticed about the radio is the instense heat it generates. It got hot enough on a trip to warp a CD after listening to XM for about 4 hours. I am afraid of it melting a cd. They have been hot enough that I have dropped them when taking them out of the player and my fingers aren't that sensitive.

Has anyone else had this issue?
