Hey all I'd like to pick your brains about this question. My local dealer is saying that a lift will not void the warranty at all only if a lift component were to fail in some way would a warranty be voided. Now if this is true I am a Happy camper when and if we get a gm diesel, but having had fords and a dodge and knowing how they have treated these things it just smells like BULL SH!T. I mean I've been into multiple dealer's of the big three and have asked this question plenty of times and usually come up with the same answer........Almost alway's a resounding "Yep go ahead and lift it the warranty will be fine" then I make them get a sales manager and they always come back and say "no sorry that will void the warranty sorry for the confusion". A few times I have been told a mild leveling kit is almost always seen as ok, but this is the first time a sales manager has told me "Go ahead and raise it all you want we'll warranty everything, but your lift parts" HMMMMMMM sounds fishy. Although he did say Programmers or anything that changes the computer were not an option, which seems so much more reasonable to me. Exhaust, cold-air intake, lift all fine? Are they feeding me a line or what? Or do I have an 8" lift on an LBZ in the near future:D

I can say that I have never had a warranty issue with any of my lifted trucks. With that being said dealers have begun to crack down on lifts and performance enhancements made to trucks and can void or deny warranty work if they feel that was the cause so discuss this with your dealer before making and drastic changes to your truck.

Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act...... Google it!!! They must prove the lift caused the problem.....
How many dealers lift trucks??? Hit up Marcsanz with any dealer ?'s you may have about lift/warranty.

From what I know....
I've never warrantied my truck for any issues like pitman arm, idler arm, because these are just common parts that go out on our trucks and the aftermarket ones they make are way better and last longer/forever! Lifts shouldn't void to many parts IMO!
Now I've had my truck warrantied for injectors (AKA last week) and I had my exhaust and and intake on the truck. I took the chip out though. But when it comes to performance stuff, they have to be able to prove that the performance part caused the problem.
I see your from Oregon, close to me, and I take my truck to DSU on Swan Island. They have never given me any problems at all and best of all they are open 24 a day M-F and like 12 hours a day on saturday and sunday I believe!

It varies greatly by daealer. Its true, if the motor blows up, the lift doesnt affct he motor and warrenty shoudl be ok, but if you have trans etc problems they could blame it. If you travel ever and are at the mercy of other dealers stock is best.

That's some good info thanks 4 the heads up! And thanks to you other guys too. So I'd really like to get the wife in a Duramax and throw a lift under it......but she is pullin' real hard 4 an suv:rolleyes: we'll see. There aren't too many new 07 classics left and I really don't want to deal with the DPF on the new trucks:cool: hearin' they've been problematic!

Our local dealer is selling lifted trucks off the lot.I think it all depends on the dealer.

I asked the dealer I bought my truck from about it, they said they "don't recommend lifts because it'll void your warranty". I'm going to a different dealer now, I haven't asked them about lifts, but they seem much more laid back there.

if the dealer did not perform the work they will not see the lift as covered under warranty. some dealers will not even do lifts on trucks now because of warranty considerations. my dealer told me this. i say that as long as you buy an IFS lift, not a body lift you should be okay for a while. i am considering getting the ORU steering upgrade for my truck which will be done at my local 4 wheel parts performance
