Crossed the border today and guess what? Alaska isn't covered on the Nav! The have Hawaii - but I don't plan on driving there.

Don't you know, there aren't any roads in alaska :D Yeah, we get treated like a foreign country up here. You don't need Nav anyway, only 3 highways in the state. Yeah, it would be nice to have the map of Anchorage and Fairbanks, but they are easy to find your way around. It's strange, my garmin rino 120 has pretty good maps of alaska...it even shows winter trails on there (at least some of them). You should talk to a dealer and see if there is a file to load a map of alaska on there.

My Tomtom does all of North America... :)

Yeah, I tried. Canada is region 8 - and it's only Canada. It shows the Alaska outline, and even some lakes & rivers (without names) but doesn't show any roads. Regoin 9 is Hawaii, I thought that mabe like some map makers, they lumped the two in together, but no such luck. You cross the Canadian border and you become a arrow head wandering arounf in uncharterd terrritory. :(

I haven't been using it for navigation as much as for mileage - so we know how far we have to go. As pointed out earlier, there aren't that many roads here, but like I said: I'm more likely to drive to Alaska than to Hawaii. :rolleyes:

I have 4.1 and 5. Neither have it. Infact, if you look on the box, (even though it says US and Canada) there is no picture of Alaska.
