I just serviced my truck...and now my "check engine oil light" is on.


I checked the dipstick and it is full maybe even too full. Is this bad?


Should I drain some out?


And how do I reset the light? Because I tried the key on and press accelerator pedal 5 time gimmick and it seems to have come back on!

is there any diesel in there?

Perhaps a bad switch? Change oil light and Check engine are two different things. Unless I'm http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley5.gif





To reset Change oil that is the funky peddle ordeal holding it to the mat on the last push until the light flashes.





I don't believe the Check engine oil light will function if the crankcase is to full of oil. If you are over full certainly drain it back.

Gearhead.....no diesel in there! phew...


Mac I think I was able to reset the light with the phunky foot pedal gimmick. The oil is way above the last ridge..actually a 1/2 inch above!


Gonna drain some out and see if it comes back on...Edited by: Gradyghost
