First of, special thanks to Diesel Tech for hooking me up with a suitable anodizing service. After less than stellar results I was becoming frustrated. With his recommendation I'm now really happy with the brushed/black anodized/polished/clear coated finished on these sample parts. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif

Pricing will be $125.00. To make payments easy, I'll flat rate the UPS ground shipping at $5.00. $125.00 + $5.00 = $130.00. These items will have a satisfaction guarantee. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif

You have your choice of:

1) Gauge or Attitude Mount.

2) With or without switches. The back of the non-switch version is pilot drilled in two places for those that want to use a smaller dia. light of switch.

3) Choice of finish: Polished or Brushed and Clear Coated or Black Anodized and Clear Coated. Special Anodizing colors can be quoted upon request.

4) The pictured samples will be on display at the TTS Power Systems booth at the SEMA show in Las Vegas, beginning Nov. 2nd. They will then be shipped to the first orders on the list.

I can begin taking payment/orders on 10-15-04.
(Paypal gtripp@earthlink.net) Credit card/orders will also be accepted by fax @ 661-297-3803 or phone, E-mail me your phone number and I'll return your call. An E-commerce Web site is currently under construction.

I will process these in large batches to maximize machine efficiency, with shipping to begin in 4 weeks. I will try and build some inventory during this time as well for future orders. I have a few more projects to finish for other companies for SEMA, hence the delay in shipping.

Below is a list of members, in order by date who have expressed interest.

Question:
For the "no switches" mount, can it be easily modified to accept switches?

I seem to recall you saying that they can be, though I do not know the final implementation.

Would you post some pics of the back side?

Thanks!

Diesel Tech
10-22-2004, 12:00 PM
The mounts with no switch holes have the backside of them center drilled. So if one was to decide to add a switch later all you would need to do is drill the mount from the rear side useing the center drill location to get you started.

Anyone know if wires for gauges such as Autometer be long enough to reach the overhead console area?

baimpala
10-24-2004, 02:51 PM
You have to wire the guages yourself anyway, so Autometer gauges will
reach anywhere you want. My problem was with the 1/8" nylon line
they sent for the boost gauge. If you tap on the passenger side
as I did, the line won't reach even to the A-pillar, so I just bought a
100' roll. If you get them, and need some line, let me
know. I'll send you as much as you want (even enough to put the
gauge in your trailer if you want).

Yes, I know you have to run yourself. I currently have AutoMeters in the A-pillar and did the install myself. I wasn't aware you can "splice" the EGT probe cable without causing problems. I assume this is not an issue?

baimpala
10-24-2004, 04:23 PM
tophog,

I completely forgot to mention the pyrometer wire. You're
absolutely right, you aren't supposed to change the wire length on the
EGT probe. I have seen some folks have run parallel gauges off of
one probe, but that isn't recommended by any probe manufacturers that I
have seen. That doesn't mean it doesn't work. I haven't
tried it, so don't know if it really effects it much. I do know
that the pyro probe I got with my Autometers wouldn't make it to the
overhead console. . .

Thanks,

Dennis

coyotekid
10-24-2004, 11:08 PM
I'm going to run into the same problem, as I ordered the gauge mount too. I haven't decided on brand yet, but I'm planning on boost/EGT, so I'll have to figure out the pyro probe lead as well.

Any ideas?

Diesel Tech
10-25-2004, 12:28 PM
I have the Autometer gauges in my truck and the pryo reached just fine to the overhead mount. I ran the wires down the pillar on passenger side then out with the door wires, forward under the battery and onto the probe. I had about 6" extra wire following this path. I used a 12' hose kit for the boost gauge and had plenty extra with it. The pictures in the begining of this thread are from my truck so you can see the gauge models I picked.

Max Farmer, I've got the Attitude mount in my overhead console with no
extension cable. My Edge box wouldn't stick to the fuse box, so I nylon
tied it to the wiring harness behind it. This puts the box a little
closer to the firewall, and I routed the wire through the rubber
grommet the rest of the wiring goes through.

MaxFarmer
11-03-2004, 11:12 PM
Thanks, Greg. I know I have a little bit of the attitude wire rolled up and zip tied to what i'm pretty sure is the same harness you're talking about... If I get some time and a little $ I'll have to get me one..

I just picked up the non switched versions from anodize today (about 2 hrs ago) not last week as "they" had promised.

I'm sorry to try your patience, would you like me to "overnight" yours at my cost? (approx. $25.00)

There are no excuses for me not meeting my projected dates, but outside processing (anodise and polishing) is killing me. Hopefully the quality of the mount, will in part make up for it. :o

Ummmmm.,...... Still patiently waiting...Do I have still have to be polite?
Being polite is entirely up to you. I'm late, but doing the best I can, so if you feel the need......flame away!

I seem to be trying alot of member's patience. :( In hindsight I shouldn't have shared the design until I had a few hundred of them made up. Live and learn.

My bad. :o I'll keep that in mind with the next product I make.

I'm wondering, in the plate with the switch holes, what are the switches typically used for?
I'd seen some reference to high idle switch, but that's incorperated into my 05 :D

I was thinking i should have a little patience, and get a couple thousand miles on before I juice the motor... any recomendations?

Thanks! :ro)

Guys,

As it is getting close to the holidays and standard ground shipments are running 5-7 days at best. I will begin shipping everyone's mounts via 3 day select at my additional cost. This will be in effect until 1/01/05. All non-switched Attitude mounts have already shipped to individuals that have prepaid. If you have not been notified of a tracking # please PM me.

Switched mounts and Gauge mounts are supposed to be ready at the Anodize house in a couple of days. Censored .............And will be shipping then.

Thanks again for all your patience while I work through this Anodizing supplier problem. I just have a problem sending out inferior finished parts.

I have already lost one customer due to my inability to deliver parts and I respect his opinion completely. I don't intend to lose any more. I only hope he gives me the opportunity to earn his business again in the future.

I hope everyone will come to see the wait was worth it.

Thanks again guys,

Trippin :D

Geez Trip, I was having second thoughts, but since I committed early on, I choose to stay the course!

Besides, it will look ohsocool up there Eh?

Just remember to tell your S/M.... "DON'T SCR3W WITH MY CD CHANGER CONTROL!"

Trip, you could have made the mount rotate shut like the Kenwood 'Mask' faceplates!

I can only conclude by the non-responses, that my 2 questions (what are switches used for, and suggestion on how long to wait on new motor before Juice), were not worthy of reply in this forum.

From now on, I'll keep my questions to myself, or take them elsewhere. I didn't intend to bother you all.

Sorry for waisting your time. :(

The juice can be added whenever you are comfortable. Some have installed before driving off the lot. I would use the search feature as this has been covered many times in pain stacking detail and debate. The switches are whatever you need them for. I have set up one of mine to allow my Video system to be powered when the key is off. It allows me to fuel without stopping the DVD the kids are watch in trips but have the normal setup be only powered with key on. The second one can be used to turn on backup lights, propane, NOS, neon lights, high idle (which you don't need) or whatever.

Sorry for waisting your time. :(The switches can be used for anything........most may use them for a HI-IDLE OD lockout , NOS arming or maybe fuel/lift pump switch on/off.
It doesn't really matter...........if you like the ability to have switches there even if not used now it would be worth getting it with switches.

As far as you Juice question........everybody has a different answer..........some put it on around the corner from the dealer.

I personally Juiced mine at 7K miles..........

switches are used for any 12 volt acc. like N20 activation or propane injection or od lock out on early models or etc. you get the point they can be used for whatever you want ........As far as the juice I would wait a little while and break the motor in good first also you might do a search on the lly power adders as it looks like the predator may have the upper hand on the lly's as far as driveability, non issues and all out power........Welcome to the site

Nice product mate. Can you add a cover piece to it that I could snap on it when I go to the Stealer. Mabey a flat panel with two dummy switches. I like the concept. The only drawback to me would be tearing off the console everytime warrenty work is needed. I wouldn't mind paying more if it was an option.

The shop installing Attitude on a 2005 3500 HD ext. cab, said that the opening for the console was smaller than the crew cab and the attitude would not fit. Is this true? Does Trippins fit the Ext. cab? If it does do you have any in stock (Trippin)

Diesel Tech
02-17-2005, 08:49 PM
I have seen several in extend cabs so I do not think you will have any troubles. I've got a couple on the shelf if Trippin's out and should have more in next week.

No cutting ov the consul is needed?

Diesel Tech
02-17-2005, 09:14 PM
You need to remove the black plastic inner liner. To do this remove the console and look at it from the top side. You will see where the factory has melted the plastic over the liner in three places, just like rivets. I use a 1/2" drill bit by hand to remove the melted plastic, then lift out the the black liner. Doing it like this allows you to use three metal screws to put the liner back in place if you ever want too. Once the liner is out just install the mount (with attitude install to mount) by pushing it in the front opening until it stops. Then replace the console back into the truck and run your wiring.

Do you have the sunroof option? That makes a difference, the opening on a sunroof console is about 1.5"

Just got my Trippin overhead mount. Nice workmanship! I ordered black w/o switches.
Using Autometer Ulrta-Light from Diesel Perfomance Parts.
The black mount makes a nice contrast to the silver gages. It also matches the black push button switches for the overhead lights. I will post a picture here when I get home.
Plus when I add some black rocker type switches in the Trippin mount, they will blend in.
