Would there be any problem in running EFILive with the Edge Juice and Attitude still hooked up?

After I start tuning the truck, I would only be using the Attitude and would be leaving the Juice in stock mode.

Also, how easy it to tune with EFILive?

I've done a fair bit of tuning with Megasquirt for a Volvo motor and I assume that it's pretty similar. Am I correct?

Thanks,
Daniel

Get rid of the Edge and use the money to get a pyro and boost gauge. The edge can mess with the timing even when set to level 0.

I've never had a problem with the Edge(believe it or not) and I already have the gauges. So now I guess I just have to find the money for EFILive.

while not recomended

i would be very conservitive with timing though and boost

what are you trying to tune? lly lb7 lbz?

if it was me though i would just get rid of it you really dont need it and it would be more of a hinderence than helpfull

I had the edge for quite a while and I never had any issues either except limping my trans. When I got EFILive I tried to do a tune that enhanced the Edge but gave that up in short time. The Edge boost gauge isn't the same as the after market boost gauge you tap into the manifold. It gives you boost based on the boost sensor which will not read above IIRC 29psi. You could easily run it up to 40psi without knowing it unless you have a boost gauge installed.

You can do a lot with EFI Live that will work with modules down stream. You can take care of speed limiters, correct tire sizes, EGR adjustments, and stuff like that. As mentioned before, be careful of things that the modules do mess with like timing and duration. Of course you can do those things in EFI Live also, but if you are happy with the power you have and like the adjustability and display of a module, go for it.

I tried putting the edge on 0 and tuning with efilive on our LB7 and it seemed ok, till I hooked up our 13k fifth wheel and loaded a towing tune. Then it shifted REALLY hard on the 4-5 almost banging it. Only towed it about 25 highway miles to test it out and unhooked it. Then put the stock tune back in it and ran just the edge and had to take the trailer down to CO (200 miles round trip) for a VIN inspection and the Edge quit on me twice in 5 minute going down the highway on level 2, so as soon as I got home, it came off and the efilive tow tune is in it now :D.

For timing reasons its not a good idea. For boost reasons its really not a good idea. PM Ben... he'll tell ya all kinds of stories

I've personally had the boost go bonkers with an Edge hooked up. overboosting and drives the EFI system crazy. And the Edge stock level still isn't stock. There are still changes to things such as timing.
