I had posted earlier that I thought I had a severe defueling problem and thought it was Edge related. It wasn't. Turns out my fuel filter was clogged at 10,000 miles.........the truck rips again.

Gsxr,

Nope, didn't take it back with me from the dealer and I should have. I usually bust'em open and take a look. I didn't feel like carring the this back to my shop and getting fuel all over me. Maybe I'll stop in this morning and see if it's still in the trash.

O.K. Gsxr I drove down to the dealership this morning and retrieved the filter, draggged it back to my business and carved it in two. I just couldn't believe what I saw.....black sludge and lots of it. Bad load of fuel from someone. I'll be installing a vacuum gauge soon, then I'll know. By the way I used to dragrace a Suzuki motorcycle (Topgas) similar to the prostocks back three years ago.

I'd play it safe and get some biocide in my fuel. You might have an algae growth going on there. I'd also add a big hit of saomething likt Total Power and keep a spare filter handy!

First diesel, thanks for your reply. One of the things that we've heard in the marine industry is that biocide is very bad for injectors, god only knows if this true. The reason they claim is that it contains real small abrasive particals. The only reason I found out about this was because a paranoid customer kept throwing chemicals (that weren't needed) into his fuel and wiped out his injectors. My some people can shed some light on this.
