Use Form-a-gasket or anything like it, just use it SPARINGLY!

The stuff I listed from GM is great stuff, and it only cost 7 bucks, and if I ever match 2 machined surfaces again, I will go and buy that stuff to assemble it, it is really good stuff!

PS, you spelled my name wrong.....hehehehhehhehehe

Went to dealer and spoke with tech., he pulled up the GM steps to repair and the sealer it calls for is an silicone rtv. This is after the parts counter told me they don`t carry the part # in tolli`s write up. The tech gave me a partial tube,he had a few partials in his drawer.;)

I got mine from the Dealer here in po-dunkville, just use what he gave you sparingly, so it does not get squeezed into the inside and clog the pick-up screen of the oil pump.

Keep us posted as to the job!

I did it today, took about 5.5 hours from start to finish, had a hard time with the large clip that goes on the bearing. pics don`t show much, but I was really suprised at the groove cut in the sides of the case.

That was the hardest part for me as well, but after doing it the first time, I can do it quicker now!

Good on you!

That upper area is just another lug that ate it's way out, that is starting to show it's ugly head more often lately.

That is the second thinest area in the case half for the pump housing........

I am glad to finally see a picture of where on top it is occurring!
