After a couple weeks of struggling w/ the brake controllers, I have finally got the Prodigy-P3 working my trailer brakes:D . If you have the factory brake controller (ITBC) and your trailer has electric over hydrolic brakes it will not work the brakes. You must install an after market controller and overide the ITBC to use the factory bumper plug and not throw an error code on the dash. Chevy has distributed a fix to the dealers, but they are not up on it yet. Its an easy install for the Prodigy, but you need the specific instructions as the wiring harness is not standard any longer. PM me if anyone needs help.

The following is the fix spelled out as best I could, hope this helps everyone w/ this issue

Under the dash
There are Four Blunt Cut Wires located under the dash below the ITBC taped up. This essentially is the wiring harness.

Dark Blue- Brake Signal to Trailer Connector
Red/Black- Battery Power
Light Blue/White- Brake Switch Input
White- Ground

Hardwire your brake controller as directed to these wires.

Under the hood
There are 2 Red/Black wires that must be connected to the 2 fused studs in front of the underhood fuse block on the right of the engine bay. The first wire is coiled up between the left fender and the fuse block. This is the aftermarket brake controller power. Attach this wire to the left stud on top of the existing wire to the factory ITBC.

The second Red/Black wire is coiled up under the master cylinder to the left of the fuse block. This is the positive feed through the 6 way plug to the trailer brakes. Attach this wire to the right stud. You will need a 6mm nut for this.

I completed all of the steps above in about 10 min

The last step is the difficult part because it involves running a new blue wire (trailer brake control) through the fuse block out to the 6 way plug. This step must be completed as described to override the ITBC and avoid throwing an error code on the dash. The following is the technical description issued as a tech bulliten to the chevy dealerships. I had the dealership do this work, as it was not user friendly to me. FYI- It took the dealership 2 attempts to wire this part correctly.

Locate connector X126 near the Underhood Fuse Block (Refer to SI Document ID# 1849049). Circuit 47 from the blunt cut wires near the data link connector will end at connector X126 terminal "G". Obtain enough Dark Blue 12 gauge wire to run from X126 to the 7-way trailer connector at the bumper. On one end of the Dark Blue wire attach terminal part number 15304732, located in Delphi Tray 8 and insert into X126 "G". Run the Dark Blue wire in its own conduit along the frame to the 7-way trailer connector at the bumper. Remove circuit 47 from the 7-way trailer connector terminal "C" and tape the bare terminal and attach to the harness. Attach terminal part number 12110853, located in Delphi Tray 4, to the other end of the Dark Blue wire and insert it into the 7-way trailer connector terminal "C".

Your factory ITBC is now disabled and the aftermarket controller should operate normally. Good Luck!
