Well i just pickup my 2002 Ext Cab Longbox this sunday and noticed that there is water that seems to be leaking from under the passenger side dashboard. Can't see the exact location but does anyone know if this is going to be a easy fix.

Check the water to see if it has coolant in it. If it doesn't it's probably a plugged drain line from the evaporator core which would take about 5 mins to clean out. If it has coolant in it you have a heater core leak which will require a lot more time to repair.

From want i got from previous owner it should just be a water leak from the evap core. Don't really know how far under i have to look to fix it though. Anyone have to fix this previously and have some good ideas.

On the firewall in the engine compartment passanger side, you will see a drain tube coming out of the firewall. This is the condensatation drain for the evaporator. If this is the problem really, you should ge bale to just pull this off and clean it out in about 10 miniutes.
On the other hand.....if it's the heater core......well.....may be slightly harder to fix. Check the liquid leaking, if it is anything other that pure water....then you have a coolant leak in the heater core. If it is clean cool water...then the drain tube.

If you have a shop vac you can try sucking the trash out through the drain tube instead of forcing it back inside. Maybe running a small wire in the drain will break things up.

Well was hunting around and after removing the cover it seems like a little bit of water is coming from some piece in the center.. Really wish i had taken some photos now. Anyways I'm pretty sure that its water. Anyone know how to get to this drain hose that leads through the firewall. I was hunting around but couldn't see it.

When you open the hood you'll see the drain with attached hose right below the AC accumulator/dryer against the passenger side fire wall. The hose is a few inches long and makes a 90 degree bend downward. Very easy to find and the hose pulls right off for easy cleaning. It's best to pull the trash through and out of the way with a shop vac to keep it from plugging again.

I had the housing around the evaporator core leak.
Something else to check if it turns out the drain is not plugged.

On the A-pillar when you open the passenger door, there is a rubber boot for door wiring and concealed up higher and toward the front is a boot on the antenne wire. They have been known to be misinstalled.

I also had a leak on the pass. side a while back. A friend ask if it had set around some trees. It had! He told me to check on the pass side just in front of the windshield under the wiper, near the hinge that opens the hood. To find a little piece of rubber the covers a drain or weep hole and check it for leaves or other debris. I did and found twig and leaves, pulled it out and leak was resolved. It still stained my carpet near the plastic trim that runs from the front to back seat, but leak is gone.

Well thats interesting but i think it's probably my AC drain. Haven't gotten around to really looking at it that hard yet. But was checking things out and noticed on the plastic cover there is a hole that seems to have no hose coming out of it, might try to snap a picture of it tonight if i can get out of work early enough.
