When I cranked up the old girl today it flashed CHANGE OIL SOON...
What do i do to reset the computer, I have just over 9,000 and changed the oil at 8,000 so its fresh...
The screen is what flashed ad htne it went off, I dont have the steering wheel controls just the reset Mileage button..
Can ya'll help me o\out, why is it goign off??? Does it need RESETING???? and HOW???

Your owners manual explains it. IIRC turn the key to run (don't
start it) and depress the accelerator pedal 4 times slowly. On
the forth time hold the pedal down. The Change Oil Soon light
will flash indicating it has been reset.
Remember to do this at each oil change. Don't forget that the oil
life monitor will be off fo the present oil because you reset it 1000
miles after a change.

but i dont change it when the light says anyway, I have never seen it come on before and didnt know my truck would do it since i dont have the other buttons on the wheel... I change my oil every 3500-4000 with Amsoil 15w-40.... its uneccesary but what is $65 in oil compared to a $35,000 dollar truck... If th eoil is black I am changing it know mattyer what..

If the oil is black I am changing it know matter what..
I've always changed my oil at 3000 on all my gassers but have now
gone to synthetic on them and plan on stretching them to about 7000
with a filter change at 3500.
My take on your statement about "black oil" is that oil basically
gets "black" due to residue it picks up during combustion. Diesel
combustion is much more dirty than gas from all the soot. Just
because the oil is black doesn't mean viscosity is gone.
Just my .02 - To each his own when it comes to oil changes.
