Anybody know of a serpentine belt upgrade for these. I hate the tiny belts they use on these engines and would like to improve on it. I have an 85 Suburban 6.2 diesel

That would be a nice upgrade, no stupid v-belts to adjust. But on the other hand, no making it home with the emergency pantyhose to keep your water pump turning.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/hihi.gif

I would check and see if the early 90's 6.2L serpentine belt setup would work. Just an idea.

I actually have checked into them and it appears as though the v belts were used until the 6.5 and then the compressor and alternator changed sides and the vacuum pump changed as well. Looks like it would be a big mess. I may actually try to make something myself if I don't find a manufacturer. Even 2 or 3 multirib belts would really improve it.

I have a friend who had a 93 6.2L 1/2 ton and I thought for sure it had a serpentine set up. Maybe I'm mistaken, not 100% sure. Good luck anyways. Post if you find a manufacturer, it sounds like a good idea going serpentine. (much neater package)
