I've been running my edge for 40K or so trouble free miles until lately. Every time I get on it hard, reguardless of what level it's on, it will go into some kind of "safe mode" or something and limits the engine to 2000 RPM's. It will run hard up to 2000, but that's it. If I shut the truck off and let the edge cycle and fire it back up, all is fine until it goes into that mode again. Anyone experience this problem with their edge?

This is a fuel supply problem somewhere. Change the fuel filter first. I would then do a search for P1093 engine code here. There is a TON of info on this problem here that will help you out. The P1093 is the engine code that is set when the truck goes into this limp mode, even though you may not have seen a engine light on the dash. You may have to modify the fuel pressure relief valve or install a lift pump if you still experience the problem with a new fuel filter when running the truck hard.

Thanks for your response. Any idea as to why it worked great for quite some time and now I am experiencing some problems? I've changed the fuel filter twice in the last week to no improvement. I'll search the P1093 fix. Thanks again

Sorry, Should have searched a little harder before I started the thread. Found my answer with the shim kit.
Mod's, you may delete this thread if ya like. Thanks,

If you still get the limp mode in level 0, or when the Juice is disconnected I would lean more towards the fuel pressure relief valve being the problem. GM has had some issues with these, and there was a TSB issued for these valves to be replaced if this limp mode happens when the truck is stock. Or you could go with a afternarket valve or shim kit.
If you only get the limp mode when adding power to the truck, you may need a fuel lift pump, as there is no pump in the fuel tank on the Duramax trucks stock. A lift pump will insure a more consistant fuel supply to the injection pump and fuel rail. I installed a lift pump on my 04 LLY from Kennedy Diesel, and this fixed the P1093 limp mode on my 04 LLY.
